Lego Tiny Turbo

Angka Utama’s ‘Retro Blue’

A quick second post today, from Angka Utama on MOCpages. We don’t normally blog Tiny Turbo style vehicles, as any Elf bringing back a Tiny Turbo find is at risk of sleeping outside, but when one looks like this we’re happy to feature it. Called ‘Retro Blue’ you can see more at the link above.

Lego Micro Car

Like a proper car. Only worse.

This odd looking vehicle is a 1959 Volvexa Alleycat. No, we’ve not heard of it either, but apparently it’s based on the lovely BMW Isetta microcar. Chriselliottart is the builder, and you can show your appreciation on Flickr.

Lego Classic Racer

Drifting before it was cool

This dashing chap wrestling his inter-war behemoth round a bend is the work of ER0L on Flickr. Entitled ‘On The Racetrack’, it hails from a time of leather hats, skinny tyres, and proper sideways action before the Fast and the Furious franchise got hold of it. Check it out at the link.

Lego Hot Rod

I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black…

This beautiful Bonneville salt-flat style hot rod comes from the aptly-named Hot Rod on MOCpages. Using Lego flags, rubber bands, Technic cogs and whatever else was lying in his brick bucket, Hot Rod has created one of the most unique cars we’ve seen in a while. Check out this MOC as well as his other creations on his MOCpage via the link above.

Classic Muscle

Camaro, ’70s style

American Muscle + LEGO = Epic. Who doesn’t like the Chevrolet Camaro? It’s been around for ages, with a recently updated model in showrooms this year. This one is a classic Camaro Z28, and it’s been built by Senator Chinchilla on MOCpages. It was suggested to us by one of our readers via the Feedback page – keep your suggestions coming!

Lego Panzer Tank

Time to post two of your suggestions, both of which were via our Feedback and Submission Suggestions page (see, we do read them!). The first is this lovely Panzer VI Tank by stefano monti on MOCpages, suggested by a good samaritan. The second is this neat little classic sports car by Chris Elliott on Flickr, suggested by, er… Chris Elliott.

More Classic Muscle

You can describe this 1967 Ford Mustang in one word: wow. With great parts usage and an accurate design D DiTorrice recreates this classic muscle car perfectly – and as he owns a real ’67 Ford Mustang you’d expect so! A deserved a blog post.

Lego Technic Lancia FulviaThis lovely Technic supercar is the legendary Lancia Fulvia HF, a car that won the World Rally Championship and put Lancia on the map as a maker of seriously good fast saloon cars (before it all went wrong in the ’80s). Piterx’s Technic version looks the part and features an epic list of functions, including; Automated Clutch, Front Wheel Drive, RC Gearbox, RC Brakes, Independent Suspension, Power Functions Drive and Steering, Opening Doors and Bonnet… To see all the detail visit the Lancia’s Eurobricks thread here.

Lego Duel truckThis evil brown tanker originates from the 1971 cult film ‘Duel’, directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the short story by Richard Matheson, in which a deranged truck driver hounds a sales rep across the California desert. We won’t spoil the ending if you’ve not seen the film, so instead we’ll direct you to trapjewad‘s Flickr page where you can pick up some clues.

Lego Gulf-Porsche 917One of our favourite racing car builders- bobalexander!- is back, with this simply magnificent 1970 Gulf-Porsche 917. Powered by a monstrous flat-12 engine the 917 was capable of over 240mph, but with limited aerodynamic knowledge (this was the early ’70s) it was also notoriously difficult to drive. Despite the handling issues the 917 has become one of the most legendary racing cars ever built, and in the most famous Gulf Racing livery it might be the best looking one too. See more of Bob’s incredible Model Team version on Flickr.

Golden oldie

Building classic cars in LEGO is fun, largely because a lot of LEGO’s newer smooth pieces look perfectly designed to end up on a mid-’30s roadster.

Here’s a beautiful example of the above; a dinky classic ’30s roadster by Xtopher. See more at MOCpages by clicking the link.

Lego Hot Rod and TractorA double post today, to stop the two Elves that found these fighting over who gets their find published first. On the left we have Fredoichi‘s ‘MicRod’ (Micro Hot Rod), which seems to find a use for all those fiddly little parts that we can never be bothered with. On the right is Thietmaier‘s Tractor, which he rather accurately describes as ‘small, red, and a little ugly’. Swap the colour and it describes the Elf that found it too. See more of both creations on Flickr.

Lego Ford TaunusThis lovely Ford Taunus DeLux (complete with Beatnik mini-figure!) comes from mijasper on Flickr. Two-tone paint and chrome highlights make this creation one of the nicest small scale vehicles of 2013 so far. See more of the Taunus and mijapser’s other work at the link.

Lego Dukes of Hazzard Dodge ChargerFor all the police chases, river jumps, car crashes and dodgy one-liners, the Dukes of Hazzard is really all about one thing; Daisy Duke’s hot pants. Thankfully Ralph Savelsberg has thought to recreate them as well as the Dodge Charger that they rode in. See more on Flickr. And then Google Daisy Duke.

Lego Vintage TruckThis lovely vintage truck was found on, er… The Brothers Brick. But it’s about time we got our own back and nicked something of theirs. Built by the previously unknown-to-us Carl Merriam, you can see more on Flickr.

*TBB lawyers have politely asked that we confirm that no TBB posts have originated from TLCB. Now please return our kidnapped Elves!

Lego Hover CarYes that is a Back to the Future quote, but this isn’t a DeLorean. _Zenn has applied some nifty looking hover car tech to an old pick-up truck, and the result is rather neat. We quite like the idea that retro-fitting hover-car components to any old car may one day be a reality. Make it so boffins of the world, make it so.

MortalSwordsman returns to our favourite of his genres; historic race cars, with this sleek looking Alan Mann Ford Escort race car. Well, sleek, but also superbly classic looking, as he captures the wonderful late ’60s shape with studded plates. See more by clicking his name above.

AEC Regent BusHere at The Lego Car Blog we usually feature creations with a V8 under the hood, flames shooting out the back, or machine guns on the front. And sometimes all of the above at once. This glorious AEC Regent Bus in Lisbon livery (hence the Portuguese title) has none of these things, but it is fanatically beautiful, and thus it earns a place here – and instantly makes the homepage a more classy place to be to boot. Joao Campos is the builder behind it, and you can see more of this wonderful historic vehicle on MOCpages.
